Pastor Tim came to Atonement in July of 2022. Prior to ordination in 1996, he was a Youth Director for six years; and, as a pastor, has led churches of 2,000 to 4,000 members. He received his B.A. from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota; and his Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Pastor Tim serves as Senior Pastor, and welcomes the opportunity to partner with staff and members to live out Atonement's mission. His passions for ministry are in preaching, teaching, adult ministries, administration, and intergenerational ministries. He is energized in ministry when others grow in faith, and embrace God's unconditional grace and love in their lives.
He is married to Kathy, and they have two children: A.J. and Lauryn. He enjoys sports, music, travel, and cooking.

Annika is an organist, violist, and pianist, born and raised in the Chicago area. She began working at Atonement in 2019 (25 years after her father completed his internship at Atonement!) as the assistant organist and children’s choir director, and eventually moved into the position of Director of Worship and Music. Previously, she held music leadership positions at various Lutheran churches in the Chicago suburbs as well as Oberlin, OH.
Outside of church, Annika has a busy career as a violist. While sitting principal of the DePaul Symphony Orchestra, she won a position in the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, and now regularly subs with orchestras such as Elgin Symphony and Oistrakh Symphony. She enjoys working as a teacher and has coached at middle schools, conducted youth orchestras, and even had the opportunity to teach at a summer festival in Panamá.
Annika enjoys a variety of musical projects. She has presented in elementary schools, directed high school musicals, accompanied graduate recitals on piano, and written training programs for choristers, to name a few. At home, Annika likes to exercise, watch TV, and train her cat, Fullerton.
Annika graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with a Bachelor’s of Music in viola, studying with Michael Strauss, and a minor in organ, studying with Jonathan Moyer. She holds a Master’s of Music and Performance Certificate (both viola) from DePaul University, where she studied with Rami Solomonow, Paul Neubauer, and Wei-Ting Kuo.
