    Pastor Tim came to Atonement in July of 2022.   Prior to ordination in 1996, he was a Youth Director for six years; and, as a pastor, has led churches of 2,000 to 4,000 members.  He received his B.A. from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota; and his Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

     

    Pastor Tim serves as Senior Pastor, and welcomes the opportunity to partner with staff and members to live out Atonement's mission.  His passions for ministry are in preaching, teaching, adult ministries, administration, and intergenerational ministries.  He is energized in ministry when others grow in faith, and embrace God's unconditional grace and love in their lives.

     

    He is married to Kathy, and they have two children:  A.J. and Lauryn.  He enjoys sports, music, travel, and cooking.

Ministry Leaders

  • Annika Sundberg
    Director of Worship & Music

    Annika is an organist, violist, and pianist, born and raised in the Chicago area. She began working at Atonement in 2019 (25 years after her father completed his internship at Atonement!) as the assistant organist and children’s choir director, and eventually moved into the position of Director of Worship and Music. Previously, she held music leadership positions at various Lutheran churches in the Chicago suburbs as well as Oberlin, OH.

    Outside of church, Annika has a busy career as a violist. While sitting principal of the DePaul Symphony Orchestra, she won a position in the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, and now regularly subs with orchestras such as Elgin Symphony and Oistrakh Symphony. She enjoys working as a teacher and has coached at middle schools, conducted youth orchestras, and even had the opportunity to teach at a summer festival in Panamá.

    Annika enjoys a variety of musical projects. She has presented in elementary schools, directed high school musicals, accompanied graduate recitals on piano, and written training programs for choristers, to name a few. At home, Annika likes to exercise, watch TV, and train her cat, Fullerton.

    Annika graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with a Bachelor’s of Music in viola, studying with Michael Strauss, and a minor in organ, studying with Jonathan Moyer. She holds a Master’s of Music and Performance Certificate (both viola) from DePaul University, where she studied with Rami Solomonow, Paul Neubauer, and Wei-Ting Kuo.

    Lisa has been attending Atonement since 2012 with her family. She joined Atonement’s staff in January of 2022. She is the first friendly face you see in the office at the front desk and is here to help you with anything you need! 

     

    Lisa is married to Dan and has three children, Danielle, Maggie, and Zach.

  • Pam Loden
    Director of Church Operations

    Pam Loden serves as our full-time Director of Church Operations. Her role involves managing our campus facilities, including scheduling building use as well as oversight of all our business functions including finance, administration and HR. She heads up our support staff team and works closely with all staff and volunteers. Pam also has responsibility for issues relating to areas of safety, security, risk management, legal documents and records.

     

    She was the impetus and driver for our Youth and Volunteer Protection Policy and regularly conducts training so that our staff and volunteers are fully prepared and well acquainted with our commitment toward both children, volunteers and members at Atonement.

     

    Pam and her husband, Mike, have two adult children, Kelsey and Nick, and have been members of Atonement since 1996. She enjoys utilizing her creative skills in many areas and  often demonstrates her excellent hospitality talents.

    Dawn Patten is responsible for ensuring that all approved expenses are put in line for payment; safeguards that all contributions and receipts are properly recorded and deposited; manages vendor's disbursements; and administers payroll processing. She also provides confidential reporting and assists members with questions about their commitments and giving records. Dawn works closely with our financial team, treasurer and the director of church operations.

     

    Dawn is married to Dan, and they have two children, Mikayla and Josh. 

  • Lindsey Chinlund

    Lindsey came to Atonement in December of 2020. She graduated with her B.A in Music Business and Entrepreneurship from Judson University in 2021. She has served on church and chapel production teams for over 5 years and in the fall of 2021, she was a Judson University Ministries Worship Leader. 

     

    Lindsey is responsible for the technical elements of Sunday services that include, sound, video, and graphics. She also manages Atonement’s Youtube page and lives streams. She is responsible for communicating information to the congregation. She writes weekly emails and manages the church’s social media page along with the website.

    Facilities Manager

    Tony has been at Atonement for 10 years overseeing everything that happens in the building. He is extremely skilled in project management and he is happy to help you with anything you need. His favorite part of his job is seeing and chatting with everyone that walks by!
